Hello A1s! I'm posting for the first time :)

I'm here to be a (sort of) last minute reminder:

1. Now that the exams are over, PLEASEPLEASE dig out your (probably) dusty scores and revise them - especially the songs you are not sure of. If you find you are in urgent need of help, please circle the parts of the songs on the scores or something and ask someone for guidance on Friday or Saturday. Please do spend a substantial amount of time on this - it's very crucial that you're at least familiar with the songs, with the concert in less than four weeks and the combined practice with Wild Empire (the adult choir) on Saturday! We want to make a good impression...(take note of the concert repertoire!)

Just some reminders for the songs:
  • Hope Faith Life Love - please revise this, especially if you have a piano at home. Some of the intervals and chords may be a bit tricky - ask if unsure during practice.
  • If still unsure about any of the sacred pieces - meaning Regina Caeli, Ave Maria and Alleluia, please do not hesitate to approach anyone who help during practice. It's important that you're clear about things and your notes are correct! Ditto for the Abba songs. Oh yes. For Knowing Me, Knowing You, please learn the solo part for Altos as well, regardless of whether you're singing the Mezzo or Alto part in the song. It's not too difficult - manageable :)
  • Please also revise Amazing Grace. Just like for all the other songs, ask if in doubt during practice.

In short, revise all the songs, in particular Hope Faith Life Love and Amazing Grace which we will be singing AND combining with Wild Empire on Saturday practice. This means you have to be very sure of your part...

2. Please be on your best behaviour during both practices! Especially during the combined practice, the reasons for doing so are obvious much. Please refrain from talking as much as possible, because Ms Ong will not release us punctually on Saturday if we drag the practice unnecessarily by talking and thus, going off task. And everyone wants to go home early..right? Please be punctual as well - by 1.30pm at the usual venue, probably, on Saturday, because though practice starts at 2, we have to do warm ups before the adult choir arrives. Please be there by 2pm on Friday. Please attend both practices as far as possible!

3. Those who have not placed orders for TJC and SAJC concerts yet please consider going. It's not too late, if you want tickets please approach me (or Mr Tay directly for the SAJC concert, as Melanie says we can!)

That's all folks! It sounds like a lot, but trust me, it's not really - I tend to use a hundred words when 10 will suffice. Don't panic. I know exams are over and we all wanna have fun. But choir can be really fun too. Haha. Spare just half or one hour a day to prepare for the concert - it's that soon, and especially for Sec 1s, it's your first concert. We want to make it a good one, right? Right?

Claudia (Please forgive my verbosity)
